Marduk are an acquired taste. If you don't like 'em, don't listen. I like them more than Immortal, but to make comparisons between the two is like comparing Slayer to Iron Maiden. The styles are vastly different.

I agree. That's why I put my two cents in in the first place. But I truly believe the Berzerker is just too much hype.
And that drummer, c'mon, his drums, especially his bass drums, sound like shit live... tell me they are a joke... Those masks....
He sounded great both times i saw them. the first he did a drum solo that totally slayed. and who cares what stupid image they have. at least it is not as retarded as black metals image.
Forget the image. It's supposed to be about music. My experience of The Berzerker is limited to seeing one video clip on TV. I would have liked it more without the pictures. The samples they used (dunno if they do it elsewhere) didn't add much to the song either. So they've got the fastest drummer in the world? Good for them. Have they got any good songs for release? I'll be impressed then.
One of thier songs has the best sample section ever. All of the Samples are from med videos and old new broadcasts and stuff.
I DLed Dissimulate a couple days ago. It sounds pretty ok, but really nothing AMAZING. The one thing that annoys me on it at times is the drum production, sometimes it sounds ok, but then at some points it really pisses me off. Quite a decent release though.

IM WITH NAPALM FOR LUNCH HERE, i saw The Berzerker live at the camden underworld - london with insision in support.....the Berzerker fucking slay live, they are so tight and fucking brutal, very rarely do you get to see a band with that much energy play live, their new album is cool........most people are like...'OOOOOH THEY WEAR MASKS!!! THEY MUST BE LIKE SLIPKNOT..OMG OMG OMG THEY MUST BE NU METAL'.....seriously, just shut the fuck up.

Well, it must be us in Houston, cuz I wasn't the only one who found this shit to smell foul... and nowhere in my post did I say they sound like Slipknot. I compared the image. Which to me is just worn out, much like most black metal imagery. But it's called entertainment, and black metal ENTERTAINS me, whereas Berzerker makes me just want to go to take a big stanky shit.
Insision are excellent, however. Their latest is 30 minutes of death metal bliss!

Dude I like the berzerker, but they are by far not the best at anything. Ive seen them live and they really sucked. ESP the drummer. He was off all the time. No solos. nothing special.
Now I do love the berzerker, i listen to them almost every day. But they arnt the fucking jesus of metal like you make them out to be.
Btw. Maduk rules. World funeral is awsome, but some people arnt going to be happy with it. Its not as "extreme" as previous marduk albums. Nightwing is still my favorite of theirs.

When I saw them, the only solo was on Corporal Jugural Disquandry or whatever its called and it was short and well.. crappy.
However Dissimulate as a cd does rule

I just think that all they accomplished when I saw them was take away valuable play time from Nile, Napalm, Dark Tranquillity, and SYL.

The Berserker's drum sound is the Marmite of metal, to my mind - you either love the industro-bass-beat triggered sound, or you think it sucks pole like a manwhore. Personally, it took me a liitle while to get used to it, but when I did I loved it. Dissimulate ruled (I reviewed it for this site), but I will say that I find the vocals to be nothing particularly special... the riffs shred though, and the Carcass cover is brilliant, IMHO.
