Marijuana and Amarth

omg, progress of decadence the forum is filling up with trolls and stoners, i knew the forum was going downhill the whole pot thing over and over and the whole teenager arguments with mekane and necro trolls and alikes are growing under my skin .... time to vacate the premise for a few weeks.

come on Patric, you wont be single forever, only a few threads down there's girls telling you how attractive they find you. btw i love AA in all stats of mind, stoned, drunk or otherwise.

Let me clarify: Amon Amarth makes for good listening at any time of day, but I can only sit there and get into their entire albums if I'm free from other distractions. Otherwise, I'll be distracted by something like the TV or a video or something, then come back to the music and have to start getting into it all over again.

I guess what I'm trying to say is Amon Amarth is fucking wicked stoner music.

To answer your question, yes i look down on a lot of people and I look down on people who do drugs in general. The same people who bitch and whine because they have no money,... the same people who make themselves look miserable unless they are high, the same people who give you attitude and act mad and cannot control their outburst of anger because they could not buy their bag of weed or because they didn't get their daily joint, the same people who bug the fuck out of me begging for 20$ because they are broke but yet spend 20$ or more a week on drugs, ... the same people that give me the right to look down on them, worthless piece of human life .... but I am sure you will tell me that you get yr pot for free, smoke it every now and then and blah blah blah All I can tell you is that if it takes pot for you to enjoy music then it is very sad. To answer your question, yes i look down on a lot of people and I look down on people who do drugs in general. You are generalizing that every stoner is a burnt out loser whos whole life revolves around being high and yes there are plenty of people like this, but a lot of the people I know that smoke pot are nothing like that including myself.
Music, especially metal, is good stoned or straight, its just nothing compares to listening to music high rather than straight. If a song is good straight then when you hear it stoned it will sound 1000 times better. But there is some music that sounds like shit high, and is better straight. The point of smoking isnt that stoners need pot to enjoy music, its that music is MUCH MORE enjoyable when you are stoned. I love music straight or stoned, but when Im stoned music sounds almost orgasmic...thats the best way I can explain...but anyways, I think you are wrong to generalize all stoners like you did and you should loosen up some about it, have you even smoke before? Its even more annoying when people who have never smoked before try and criticize others that do...whatever...

Of course I don't need pot to enjoy metal. Those of you who wrote this three times in a row didn't bother to fully read the thread.

I'm not a pot addict. As far as I know it's impossible to become physically addicted to pot. I don't get it for free, but look where I live! The stuff essentially litters the BC streets and is damn cheap. I was of the impression that more Amon Amarth fans smoked pot simply because the music is so damn good under the influence of it (does NOT mean I don't enjoy it "sober").

Obviously not. In any case, you keep sitting up there on your high horse and go on believing straightedge is the only way and I'll go on smoking my pot and loving my metal. We're all happy!

I assume you meant this as a joke right? since when is beer a drug? since when is being in a bar with friends having a good conversation around a beer means doing drugs? get a fucking clue man. I ll put you in a room with 5 coke users tapping their vein and 5 guys sniffing the magic powder and 5 guys in a bar drinking a beer and eating a burger and you tell me what drugs really are ok? get back to me on the subject. but that is yr opinion.

Guy started the thread, he got my opinion, if he thinks i look down on him then yes i do. If you need drugs to enjoy a band's music ... like someone else said it "does not say much about the bands music" and i find it very sad, that one would need to be high to enjoy it. As far as I know i don't need beer to enjoy music. I am done with the subject. Once you ll see yr friends go down because of drugs and get shot, get jailed, get ruined,.... and do nothing about it even after you offer them help, visit them in jail, in rehab.... and they still do nothing about it, then I have nothing to offer them, not even pity or compassion. Maybe one day you will understand my point. Until you do, pls don't associate beer and drugs.

To Megadan, smoking it is yr right, .... it just irritates me to read this on aa forum because the majority of you guys are young and seeing some of my friends, it is sad that some might end up like them .... which i hope you wont.

Are you completely blind to the many people who because of alcohol "get shot, get jailed, get ruined,.... and do nothing about it even after you offer them help, visit them in jail, in rehab.... and they still do nothing about it, then I have nothing to offer them, not even pity or compassion" Alcohol is just as much a drug as pot, anyone whos been drunk would understand this, and with alcohol comes many of the same problems of impairment and addiction. Alcohol is no better than pot, now when it comes to heroin and cocaine then yes having a beer doesnt compare to that at all. But, alcohol is a drug and its no better than pot, both pot and alcohol in my opinion are soft drugs and the other ones you were talking about were hard drugs. You see it as no big deal for some guys to have a few beers, I see it as no big deal for some guys to smoke a joint. Pot isnt as big of a problem as you make it out to be, yes if it leads someone to harder drugs or a strong addiction, then it could cause problems, but if you are an intelligent, reasonable, self-controlled person then you can enjoy pot without many problems...hmm it seems to me like alcohol is another drug that takes intelligence, reason, and self-control to enjoy and decrease the risk of the problems it causes.
Basically my point is alcohol and pot are similar in that they are soft drugs that can cause bad problems but usually dont if you can control yourself and practice moderation, and I think you are wrong for putting down anyone who uses pot simpily because you had some bad experiences with your friends...not everyone is going to turn out like your friends...I dont know what else to say, and you probably wont care anyways so whatever
