Ähmmmm I meant it kinda serious...Okay, it was written to provoke you but lets see.
You mix up the definition of the term drug and the behaviour of some junkies.
But don't be fooled, it is a difference, really.
A drug is something one needs to exist, which gives a pleasent feeling (or other said "make one feel good")
and which makes addicts mentally or physically. Alc is such an substance too. Look at those alc-wracks who are
screaming for their daily booze and you see what I mean. They need it, they buy it from their low or non-existant
money (the mental addiction) and some people need it to feel good again. So you have the physical part.
Another example:
A man or woman drinking some beer to "get a calm hand", to calm down, or any other form of repetitive/daily consumption.
Now perhaps you think: "You're talking about alc in general". Yes, I do 'cuz beer is an alcoholic substance.
Now you're conquering: "Beer aren't spirits and it doesn't addict or the addiction is minimal".
Yeah, correct, but drugs aren't the same too. Weed is different from LSD and Ecstasy isn't cocaine.
The active substances of these drugs are different from drug to drug, so you have an equal comparison to alcohol.
There is beer, booze, absinthe and enough sub-styles of alc.
Each drug works in different ways and people react different in a small way. With alc it is the same. Some feel good, some feel bad 'cuz they only need 2 beer to see stars, one is chilling, another one gets aggressive...
Sounds like a description of some junkies don't you think?
And it depends which drug one is taking. Some are more dangerous, some are less, some carry one to regions noone entered so far, some are more addictive, some less....Depends and it is not to be generalized because the variations are huge.
The bottom line: Alc can be addictive, but it mustn't (or needn't ??? everytime I screw this one up... pick the one in the sense of could happen).
About getting shot, ruined life etc.:
This are some possible consequences for junkies but look above. Not everyone smoking weed has to end up like this.
There are examples. Just look around and you'll find some of them
Of course with harder drugs it is different, but we had this above already - different substances, different grades
of possible addiction and different reactions.
I don't try to negociate the dangers of drugs, nor do I try to convince you of start tripping, but what I intent
is to have a more critical and more detailed view on the topic because it is a very diverse one and it is more then it seems to be.
And this has nothing to do with Goldies "I'm gay - I'm proud" theory

I'm gonna chime in here, just for the hell of it. I mostly agree with Belgar, but at the same time I think alcohol is more dangerous than weed. I've seen one of my friends both drunk and stoned (seperately) and she was only punching her boyfriend in the gut when she was drunk. I'm totally against the use of either substance, if it can be used responsibly and in moderation. The problem is (with alcohol at least) the more you have the less resposible you'll be.
Personally I don't partake of either substance, and my reasoning is that (aside from weed being illegal and me being kinda funny about the law) I prefer to retain complete control over my actions at all times. I don't want to get drunk to lose control or anything like that.

And yes Megadan you can become addicted to pot. My friends have done it since they were 11, and now they are 22 and still do it everyday. They have tried to stop countless times but they can never give it up. Its very addictive! BUT Im not saying alcohol isn't fucking oath it is! BUT FUCK ME DEAD ITS GREAT! hahaha I don't look down on people who smoke the shit, i don't do it myself but every single person who i know who has smoked and continues smoking i know is a lazy fuck, and never thinks for themselves and leaves everything to the last minute. thats my two cents..

Exactly, people who smoke heavily end up getting burnt out. Thats why I say everything is good in moderation. I say smoking pot is ok, but if you start doing it everyday and get to the point where you arent happy unless you're high and you get burnt out, lazy, mentally slow and stupid, and you cant remember what happened 5 minutes ago, then you smoked too much too often. But if you were to keep it in moderation and only smoke occasionally then this kind of stuff wont happen to you as badly. This is because you are really only that way when you are coming down from being high and that feeling, depending on how much you smoked and how strong it was, lasts for a day or two. During that time you might feel a little lazy or not completely mentally sharp, but after a few days it goes away and you are basically back to normal. Now, if you were somone who smoked everyday and often, then you end up in either being high or coming down all the time. And thats why people get burnt out, because they smoke too much and build a dependency and they end up being either stoned all the time, and when they arent stoned they are coming down and thats when they get really lazy and stupid...anyways like I said everything is good in moderation.

about weed: i used to smoke myself, for many many years in high school, but i quit.
nowadays it takes a REALLY special event to make me do it again.
i usually try to stay away from it, for my own reasons.
I do however LOVE alcohol. and yes alcohol is WAAAAY more addictive than weed and more dengeraous.
The way i see it: if you know how to drink, and you know when to stop, then its cool. alcohol is a social thing, as oppose to other things.
same with weed: people who smoke all day every day discuss me.

anything you over do= will be a bad thing.
i hardly ever smoke or drink really so I mostly listen to music just couse i actuelly like it.. and i also never drink to concerts

I don't drink much nor smoke weed much either. Although I have listened to Amon Amarth while drunk and I must say it kicks even more ass! I was in bed listening to Amon Amarth air-drumming when I nailed my hand on the edge of the bunk bed! I woke up the next day to find it swollen and cut. Now I have battle scars!
