a friend of wants to sell this baby here:
Marshall JMP MK2
According to the Marshall website and the s/n it has been build in 1976.
Not modified at all. He just replaced one cap because it produced
a lot of hum. So everything else is original.

Just found one on german ebay for 400 EUR to get a clue
on the price.

Any opinions on this baby?
Is worth more than 400 EUR or less?

they're not that cheap. Hopkins was just lucky. I think they're sort of marshall vintage class. Get your hands over it, 400€ is a great price and it must be a good amp, considering marshall was a very respectable brand in those days for the strict quality control of their stuff. Not what you see today, tho.

If that's a bargain, how much is that head really worth?
I own the same head (mine is Master Volume, but still Mk2), made the same year, and it's covered in orange tolex to spice things up. :D
And yes, I have a matching cab loaded with G12H speakers.
Any clues how much my amp and cab would be worth, eh?

On harmony central, most people bought their used heads for about 600€ on average but now I kinda think I confused this amp with another one, then again, I'm not sure.

Usually Marshall heads with master volume are cheaper than their non-master counterparts.

Isn't that the same type amp Yngwie used? :D
And Hendrix... except his was a true plexi from much earlier...

Fun trick to do with these things:

Patch the imputs so that one channel drives the other and doubles the gain!

Given the volume levels of these things you moe or less have to, they're just so fucking loud! :worship:

That's a great score you got there Hop! Nice job! That trick you mentioned even has a model in Line 6, should be interesting...
