Hey

I can buy an used Valvestate 8100 for 150€ shipping included. to me it seems a little bit too much. The amp has some little scratches here and there but it is in good working condition. Thoughts?

that seems about right, these have been going for around 150-300usd on the used market. I just bought the combo version of this amp like a week ago and did the usual research. A couple of years back you may have found it cheaper but it seems like people have kind of come around to how cool the first run of valvestates were.

I think that if you're gonna wait for one that's like 20€ cheaper, then it might be a longer wait than you'd like
since they don't pop up so often, especially cheaper than that. 150€ sounds about right to me.

I bought mine for 180€ abit over a year ago in mint condition with the original Marshall ECC83 still in the pre-amp.
It's a kicking amp, that's all I can say! :headbang:

I think that is a normal price as well for one that is in good working condition. I've been keeping an eye on them and have seen them go between 120 and 170 euros over the past 2 years. The ones below 150 euros often had minor defects like scratchy pots and stuff like that.

If you want one, go with it imo.

Thanks mates! I said ok to the seller ;)
Damn, I used to play on this amp when I was 14 with the matching cab my parents had bought. Then sold it a couple of years later in MINT condition for a few bucks. If I had known...

paid 120€ new for mine almost 12 years ago or so, sold it 3 years ago for 250€ :D
the guy really wanted it, actually didn't want to sell it, but in the end, I wasn't
able to use it (no cab, no rehearsal space, no band) for a few years so I sold it.

20 years forward... This amp might just end up as one of those legendary amps that will be remembered in history,
and mostly liked by the 'old' hags who witnessed all the awesome music made in the 90's.

It also sounds great with HM-2 and any other multiFX pedal. The dirty channel on it's own is quite one of a kind!

Not saying it's the best amp for various purposes, but definitely one of the most special I can think of,
having a character of it's own & yet not replicated by any vst-makers, which is pretty cool :)

Personally I got one just for the sake of having it, but this fucker surprised me big time, and got abused!
