I think every place needs a good fest. Even the Metal and Hardcore Fests haven't been that spectacular of late. (well, the NJ one last fall was pretty good) The US fests have this mentality that more bands means a better fest. Look at the great fests in Europe; do any of them ever have more than 20 bands a day? Everything I hear of is around 10 big name bands per day, each with at least 45 minutes. That's the kind of thing we need in the States. 10 or so high calliber bands with long sets and none of this pay-to-play shit.
