Master of Puppets!

AJFA is better than master of puppets in my opinion but it was the first metallica album i heard so AJFA will always be kinda special to me. with the exception of st.anger i don't think metallica have made a bad record

Korn sucks hard. Metallica's stuff is great to me, except the load albums, and St Anger. It doesn't have to be hard to play, just look how basic Black album stuff is. They are respected by the rhythm player for Hetfields tight playing. MOP also is the first Metallica albums without any of Mustaine's input.

Not if you listen to Mustaine. He claims to have written parts of Leper Messiah.

And MoP is a good album but really fucking overrated. May have been amazing in 1986 but if it was made today it wouldn't be as appreciated.

This, followed directly by And Justice For All. Also;

I've been over my views on Master of Puppets so many times and I quite frankly refuse to rise to the debate on here again, since last time it caused such a shitstorm with the Metallica fanboys on here that Ol actually locked the thread and everyone got a proverbial bollocking.

If you weren't on here when that happened then tough shit to you because I'm not going to rise to an obvious (and if I'm honest, an extremely poor) attempt to get a reaction out of me. You lot can keep the shit on your fingers, that way no one can point the finger at me when certain people - mentioning no names - throw their toys out of the pram.

Nice try, but no cigar. Sorry kids.

I see how it is. Tbf I've had enough of arguing the same old shit with Dave, I'd probably just fail at trolling him instead

I just can't deny some of the incredible shit on MOP. The Thing That Should Not Be is one of the greatest songs of all time plain and simple, at least for me, etc etc

I really can't even begin to compare the first 4 albums (though KEA is my "favorite") just as I can't compare enter the grave as a whole to infected nations. Maybe it's just me though. They're all great albums if you ask me.

that's one of my questions... i mean, i didn't exist when MoP was released, so i don't know how it was received. back then, were they already like '' Holy shit, this is good!!'' or did that come many many years later when they found out that music was getting worse or something? i mean, that MoP is part of nostalgic feelings?

If any band released a song anywhere near as good as battery, damage inc or disposable heroes now i would shit a brick. it just doesn't happen.

One of the reasons it's so big is because it's really the most accessible of the first four albums but I think that's a sign of it's quality

In my honest opinion, "Master of Puppets" is the greatest metal album of all time. Why do I think this? Because I LOVE every song on the album. Each and every song is a masterpiece in its own right I think.

(Infected Nations is a close second guys! :lol: :D )

Thats all I have to say on the matter. Agree with me, flame me, whatever.

Well said Keenan. MOP is simply a radical record. The arrangements are brilliant, the riffs rule, the melodies are magic, the solo's blaze, the lyrics rule, and the spirit soul shines. The bar was raised with MOP. Bands just don't write colorful material like they used to.
