Mastering audio by Bob Katz

whats a great book for like eq and compression, basically mixing.

every fucking book ive come across is too much about like how to position mics and sine waves stuff like that. is there a good book on mixing?

I own the following, and they are great books-

Mixing Audio: Concepts, Practices and Tools
The Mixing Engineer's Handbook, Second Edition
Digital Home Recording:Tips, Techniques, and Tools for Home Studio Production
Practical Recording Techniques, Fourth Edition:The step-by-step approach to professional audio recording

bob katz book is by far the most advanced book i've found (with my limited research so correct me if i'm way off). most of the other books offer fairly obvious suggestions and therefore aren't worth the 30-60 bucks to me at least, but if you don't already own Mastering Audio get it now, it's definitely an intense read and for some (me) it took about the second or third time reading it to really grasp it all. Can't wait to pick up the 2nd edition, from gearslutz it sounds like he has added a few new chapters and updated a lot

Sorry to go off topic, but I noticed from your avatar that you have the exact same setup as me, from the monitors to the keyboard :kickass:
