I bought Leviathan after all the praise people around the internet were giving it, and frankly, I just don't see what is so "awesome" about these guys. They aren't horrible, but they certainly aren't anything special.

The best thing about Leviathan imo is the cover .. the cover is amazing imo. The music is very good but not amazing. They're not as revolutionary as people make out imo.

They rule. I like Remission perhaps a bit more than Leviathan... I was quite disappointed at Leviathan too at first, but it's been growing on me.

Actually, Blimey, I agree with gatedropper. Their songs sound AMAZING live and they have the most energy I've ever seen in a live band beside Iron Maiden.

Mastodon is an awesome band. Leviathian is an amazing album, cover-wise and music as well. Besides, they put on a kick ass live show every time, that and Bill , Brent and Brann are just kick ass guys to talk to.
