So like the title says, I want to do a shootout on both. I know a lot of people are interested in knowing if the bump in price for the 820 is worth it.

So what I need is a short DI clip of some riffing/palm muting/pinch harmonics/etc.

So if you got one please post me a link and I can get a comparison up in minutes.

Also a bluesy type lick might help too.

Edit-
Here are the clips.

od-comparison

The OD808 and OD820 were set to the same settings on both tests.
All settings are closck refference.

Drive 12
Tone 9
Level 12

The blues lick was run through the clean channel on my Herbert.
The metal riff was run through channel 2 on my Herbert.

All in all I find the 820 to have a bit higher level than the 808 at the same settings. Also the 820 had more dynamics to it when looking at the waveform.

They sound similar, but I just like the feel of the 820 more.

The OD820 seems consistently muddier, but at the same time has some desirable density to the lower midrange, which translates to some fairly meaty chugging. I've yet to compare the two against my custom TS. All in due time...

Thanks for the shoot-out.

The OD820 would probably sound "better" and less muddy with the drive set at minimum and level at 11 o clock instead.
