Maxon Pedals

Hey Andy or anyone else that can help.
There was an old thread regarding the Maxon tube screamer but I can't remember the exact model and if there were any particular settings.
Can anyone help?

I think it was a Maxon OD 808 and the most common setting used around here I believe is:

GAIN = 3 o'clock
LEVEL = 12 o'clock
TONE = 12 o'clock

.. and I thought that most of the tweaking and gain came from the amp, and that the pedal was merely an after-touch after you'd dialed in a good setting on the amp itself.

Has anyone compared the Maxon models to the Ibanez ones, I think Andy said he preferred the Maxon one?

I've just done some searching and it was the vintage 820 (found it in the krank thread).

Don't forget, it's not set in stone anyway. My level and tone settings are lower than that and I've got more juice dialed up in the gain dept. on my amp.

i use gain 0 level 10 tone 1 on my od 808. turning up the gain on the pedal gets a little to gainy for me. i like it more as a coloring type clean boost.
