Mayday Parade cover? wtf

Hey brian..i know that you are busy, but really.. yesterday i listened this song all the day!!i like the sound, and details about guitar chain and eq are really appreciated..i would like to have that sound ;)
oh then while i listened the song i noted that in three points the mix pumps quite a lot..0:36 -1:37 -2:32..maybe i get wrong..

If you're not using triggers, try running a high pass before drumagog, and take out everything below 1k, and add a nice think boost around 4-5k. That should make drummagog trigger muuuuccchh more cleanly.

Then if there are hits that are double triggering, just copy a hit that doesnt double trigger, and paste it over the hit that is double triggering.

The top samples on this song are the Fat Toms, all Z1. I tend to alternate between those and the new maple toms depending on the band.

Thanks for reminding that eq tip.
What you do to your toms?eq,comp...maybe a screenshot about that.if you mind.:)

I really like your mixes, great job.

haha yes you are correct, each of those time points you gave are where the 808's are. The band wanted their 808's to be loud, so the only way to get them as loud as they wanted was to allow it to pump the mix slightly. I didn't think it was very noticeable(especially if you're in a bass heavy card since you'd be paying attention to the 808), but i guess i was wrong:lol:

Other than pod farm for guitars, the only post processing is a low pass at 12k and andy sneap c4. I usually go simple for suff like that:) I sent someone on here my seladora sessions, and they were suprised at how little i actually to to my mixes haha. I guess that's either a good or a bad thing(who knows). I've gotten a little fancier since then though:headbang:

yeah,it's right...it wasn't noticeable, the song and the mix impress me very much..thank you for the guitars..last question, master channel,2 gclip right?can you tell me the settings of this two qclip?100%clip,50% softness and 4db up in all this two gclip?

i started putting softness on 0%, although i honestly hear no different between 0% and 50%.
The gain varies depending how hot you tracked everything, as well as how you adjusted your levels. Lately i've found that i turn things down rather than up as i mix, which means i either have to bump up the gain quite a bit on gclip, or i have to go through and turn everything in the mix up individually.

I just kinda judge how much i need to bump up everything by looking at the master meter as well as the rms reading from PAZ meter(which sux). There's gotta be a better way to do it...

brian, what do you do with your toms, details on your post-processing would be awesome! my toms always sound so fuckin dry as you can hear in my "ssd test" thread...

ehi brian..the last help please..can you share screenshot about vocals chain and the various vocal group that i saw in the pictures of bass?they sound amazing,please..i have a lot of problems with vocals mix..
