Anyone want pop-punk mixing practice? (mayday parade cover)

do you have DI tracks? i would be very tempted to get some orange reamping action up in this

Yeah man! I actually reamped my version with my orange TH-30. But i have di's for everything that i tracked. The drums are all midi though because I didn't have my drum set at my studio.

ok so heres all the di tracks, midi and vocals - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3175304/mayday stuff/Mayday Tracks for UM.zip

Meter is in 1/4 with a tempo of 173 bpm and a change for the ending acoustic part at bar 474 to 164 bpm (and at the beginning I had a 9 count because i was trying to line it up with the original song when I was mapping the drums)

I didn't have access to the best bass so I apologize in advance for that. But post your mixes!

Also any feedback on my mix would be appreciated thanks and enjoy!

Seems to work fine for me, 173 BPM time signature 1/4, the first midi drum note should start at around 5 bars (of 1/4 bars) after the start of the Wave files IIRC.

My shot at these nice tracks:

I´m struggling a little with guitars... think they´re are to on top sounding. Damn ampsims;)
Any feedback is much appreciated. No backing vox yet.

hey man sounds pretty good! I think possibly some of the drums are hitting at wrong times? but overall I'd maybe compress those vocals a little more. maybe eq them so they sit on top of the mix better and a bit brighter. Also guitars could use maybe a boost somewhere in the mid frequency and brought down a tad and more extreme of a high pass filter.

managed to make it happen by using 188 and nudging the track around for an hour lol i have no idea what has been going on lately but everytime i download a raw session from somebody, SOMETHING is horribly messed. Usually only for me lol
