was it with joey or bush? i saw anthrax with pantera and i believe the other show was with overkill. i cant seem to remember.:zombie: so when are they supposed to come back?
overkill and motorhead. 3 bucks for a beer .i had to walk around with 2 to not miss most of the show.

I'm originally from Brownsville, and I remember the ashtray that was the Villa Real back in the 80's. I see that it got a facelift since the last time I saw it.
well atleast i got to see the entire concert. i had a brite idea at puddle of mud and smile empty soul to save on drinks. after smile empty soul finished i tried to get some beer from the ice chest in the car with my friend. the rentacop there said only one could leave to fix our "broken Light that would drain the batter"
needless to say she didnt let us back in even with the ticket stubs and we missed puddle of mud

those nachos kicked ass though.

I thought the show in Mcallen was good..too short for an anthrax set..scott did mention that they would come back this time with a new album...I highly doubt it......i would love for them to come back..a friend of mine got to meet joey and he asked joey if they would come back...joey just mentioned to him san antonio and may be corpus...but that's as far south he mentioned...imop the crowd just did not had the attitude that night..and you can tell from the way the guys (anthrax) were playing..I do not think they felt the crowd like the way the would have liked too..even zombie had a hard time pumping up the crowd and even rob said that the crowd was not loud enough..thats why towards the end of the show it kind of fizzled out..it just died or ran out of gas...however you want to put whomever was there that night...I've seen zombie before up in texas when he pumps up the crowd the crowd pumps right back at him.. and that's because i'm not into zombie..;that night in Mcallen it just wasn't him.. I hope they do come back.. but if not I at least got to see

dbluntman, I agree with you. The shows in McAllen usually suck, though. The crowd act like they have never been to a concert. I hate it when dumbasses throw stuff at the performers. I remember when Megadeth played at the Villa Real and and some idiot threw a bottle of water at Dave Mustaine. Dave, pointed at him and said" You're a fuckin asshole!" and after that song they all got off stage and there was no encore.

I hate to say it;but usually the concets up north texas have the best crowd..the only good show that i've seen that the crowd was o.k. was pantera..
I went to three of their shows and they rocked..but pantera was imop never into the attitude towards the crowd..they just wanted to jam and get to the next town..man were they cool and funny...for pantera to have good spirit to play a show in Mcallen..man did I have total respect for that band...Fuck! I don't know if you have heard, they are closing the Villareal. July 31 is the last date. I heard that Harley Davidson had bought the property, but I don't know if that is true. I saw some great shows there back in the 80's -90's...Slayer, Overkill, GWAR, Megadeth, G 'n R (before they were famous) Misfits, Metallica (MOP tour)...they had an off day from Ozzy's Ultimate Sin Tour and played there. Awesome show....got to see Cliff jam like a mother fucker up close. ...Hell...Anthrax with J. Bush played there too.
