OK, I looked it up online. The heat from boiling water isn't enough to destroy a lot of the alkaloids, unlike the heat from smoking them; however, most sources I see say that only MOST of the alkaloids are destroyed from heat, so technically you CAN smoke mushrooms, but it will destroy all but a fraction of the hallucinogens in them?

That's why for psilo(cyb)in tea, they often recommend you make psilocybin honey and then add the honey to hot (not boiling) water.
