Megadeth is over

opps Maybe If I saw this earlier!

oh well I posted Dave M.'s final "goodbye"

Sucks ass.... I am a huge Megadeth fan so this realy blows.

but I have TestAmenT still...FUCKING HAIL!

the metal world seems to have fallen under a curse, and the whole world for that metter. Chuck Schuldiner, Paul Boloff and Randy Costillo have passed away, James Murphy and Chuck Billy have gotten cancer and now Megadeth has called it quits. This has become an epidemic.

~Dave recieved severe nerve damage to his arm back in January, which needs a year of therapy to discover if he can ever play guitar again. Any other reasons for Megadeth's death are secondary and/or coincidental.

You believe the official word on the break-up? Then why did'nt
Dave M. just take a year or 2 off, & see how it's goes recovering.
Before announcing a break-up. Or get another guitar player, he can still write & sing? It could not be the declining record sales, or the last 2 way sub-par(sucks) albums. Or him falling off the wagon, again..............................................................................
I'd rather have them call it quits then release another watered
down MEGADETH album, Cryptic Writing was a great album, now they sound so commercial, just like their older sister, METALLICA.

I don't know man, if Dave would have gotten off his ass and wrote a song like he used to, I think he would have been the hero he talked about, Rust In Peace was his masterwork, Cryptic Writings is good but it does'nt have the crushing power of his earlier works such as Countdown to Extinction, Rust In Peace, and Peace Sell... I was waiting for him to do it and it probably would have, it would have brought him out of Metalligay's shadow and given him the metal recognition he deserved, but alas, he gave up...

~Point taken. Personally I think aside from all this Dave feels like he gave it his best shot with TWNAH. I mean I think he felt restricted as he was still trying to move the sound forward while maintaining some heaviness. It wasn't the worst album in the world, but the heavy part of it didn't have the importance that it had on previous albums. It was almost an afterthought to the progression the music was taking.

~And I also think that Degrasso could have stepped up the beats a little bit. He's all over the place on Rude Awakening, so he's capable of much more. His lack of drum fills on Hero made me believe that even he didn't like the songs. Motopsycho is terrible, it sounds like MD45 or something even more retarded.

~But as for breaking up, I'm not sure that anyone can still see Dave as a metal titan pushing 50 years old. I honestly hope his arm gets better, and that he comes public with the truth to any rumors,... but I am skeptical that the band could pull off an album equivical to what Al Pitrelli described as the difference between Risk and Hero respectively being the the difference between Hero and the next album. Besides that could be read any number of ways.

Actually Degrasso came up with some crazy ass fills for Hero, but Mustaine told him to tone it down. Apparently Mustaine thought simplicity was better. Also I think Mustaine could have gotten another guitarist to fill in for him, but I'm sure he wouldn't be satisfied with that.I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be happy if he wasn't playing guitar. I know if I was a guitarist and singer for a band then I wouldn't want to just go up on stage and only sing. If you play guitar then it is apart of you in a way, and I'm sure he wouldn't be happy if he couldn't go out and play his music.

Dave's attitude is what defines him in terms of vocals, always has been. It's not like the venomous Chuck Schuldiner or the bludgeoningly powerful Chuck Billy, who simply send a deep seeded twinge down the spine with their demonic vocal styles. Don't get me wrong, I prefer the Chucks' vocal style more myself, but it needs to be understood that Dave Mustaine has an amazing knack for being able to relay a certain attitude in his music that can not be denied. When he is so used to singing and playing that'll be practically pointless for him to just sing. After all, he is the reason that many guitar playing fans even go to a show.

"talk about me when my back is turned, the next time we meet it will be too late...the memory burned in my ear of what you said, and now I've got a recipe for hate; taste it!" -Dave Mustaine-
