I'm on the fence with Mr. Mustaine and company, and I think it has more to do with his music then his mouth. The last few CD's have been severely left me wanting and I consider Megadeth one of my favorite bands. I don't remember what channel it was on, but a little while ago there was a Guitar Center thing that had Megadeth play a set and Mustaine was interviewed. I found myself fast forwarding through Mustaine's interview but watching the band. At one time, I really enjoyed what Dave had to say. But nowadays I find myself shaking my head in disbelief at a lot of the things he says.

You are correct. Christianity burned down the much older Pagan temples that existed on those very same sites and replaced them with their own houses of worship. Those involved in the Norway church burnings saw their destruction of those Christian churches as retribution for Christianity having paved over their Pagan heritage many years ago. However, and this is part of why I called it an apples and oranges comparison... the actions of a few misguided teenagers, 30 years ago, doesn't change the fact that Black Metal lyrics are based on fantasy. They are a horror movie set to blastbeats and tremolo picking. There isn't a BM voting block out there looking to govern how you live. Obama didn't ask Varg to attend the inauguration ball. Conversely, Nugent was asked by a U.S. Congressman to attend the State of the Union... after Nugent had essentially threatened the President.

True. They are not assholes because they disagree with me. I am friends with many people who hold opposing viewpoints. Mustaine and Nugent are assholes, because Mustaine and Nugent are assholes. Telling South African women, where the percentage of women raped last year was 33%, to just "put a plug in it", makes him an asshole.

Nahhh... I grew up on 80s Hair Metal. While I always hated Stryper's ballads, I totally loved their more rocking songs.

I love Stryper, always have, but their ballads are terrible! For some reason Michael Sweet just can't sing a ballad...he sounds like a sissy! Now David Coverdale on the other hand, can sing a great ballad.
