Megadeth's new album is called Super Collider

And, I still stand by what I said. Liberals preach tolerance, but spew hatred and intolerance.

I am a liberal, and I spew hatred and intolerance against:
* Neocons who want to rape the land and our bank accounts because, even though they are outrageously rich they cannot ever seem to have enough.
* Michael Jackson and all other child molesters (according to the news, a ton of whom are in the catholic church) who get away with it in plain sight.
* Rap music that glorifies killing, rape, and sex slavery.
* War for oil. In fact, war in general (with a few exceptions but you get my point).
* The people behind the Teabaggers. A set of people woefully unaware of the true agenda of the people in power.
* Business owners who will not give their employees health care because it will cost their customers 11 cents more per pizza.
* Jerks who think it is perfectly OK to download terabytes of music without ever paying a dime for an album.

If you don't like that kind of hate and intolerance, bite me.

Ok the lead single is here and it's a bit poppy and almost country to say the least. At first I thought it sucked and that's coming from a deth fanboy but then it's grown on me a little bit. The chorus is quite catchy and sounds pretty close to Almost Honest from Cryptic. Actually the song sounds like something from the non thrashy tracks on that album. I must admit this is not what I was expecting though from a lead single. I expected something a little more metal but this is a plain and simple hard rock track with even a bluesy loose feel to me. The lead single from 13 which I forget the title of now(the galloping one) was miles better than this. I reckon though this is one of those songs here the chorus stays infuriatingly in your brain long after it's finished. Please bring the thrash on the other songs Dave, none of this stupid country high road shit lol

Churches were burned down in Norway because of Christianity. Am I right? You rip Mustaine and Nugent.

I think responding to this post is fair game because it's music and not politics.

You are creating a false equivalence. Regardless of the motives behind those black metal guys, what they did was a criminal act. We're not talking about crimes, we're talking about opinions.

Varg says a bunch of extremely racist and homophobic stuff too, and I love Burzum. If anything though, the fact that I love Burzum and admit that I could never defend the shit that comes out of that nutjob's mouth puts me at a higher place than those defending a guy that said African women should put a plug in it. It has nothing to do with liberal vs conservative, it has to do with defending a racist dumbshit like Mustaine.

New song sounds like a B side from Risk.

played the new song for the wife who likes the more mellow Megadeth material compared to me, her comments "is Dave sober again? he sounds like shit" "He needs to get drunk again" "It was horrible" "and I have no desire to listen to anymore of that cd if this is what it's going to sound like"

:lol::lol::lol:

I dislike it greatly.
It sounds like some serious buttrock, even Nickleback would be ashamed writing something like this.
The vocals and the chord progression are just so generic and bland/soulless.

My song by song rate:

Kingmaker - nice fast paced thrashy tune but could do with a better chorus but starts the album well. 7.5/10

Super Collider - Grown on me a lot cause the chorus just stays spinning round your head.. 6/10

Burn! - thrashers will hate it but I like it sounds fun in this mid paced groove song with a stupid catchy chorus. 7/10

Built For War - Groovy riffed up tune with a lot of interesting riffs and nice vocals from Dave. Like the wooaahh bits. 7.5/10

Off The Edge - A galloping mid paced riff ala Public Enemy No 1 from 13 rumbles throughout this simple rock tune. Heavy rocking in this decent tune. 7/10

Dance in the Rain - Very weird and odd tune with spoken vocals from Dave at the start. The speed slowly picks up and almost goes into thrash mode before settling into a melodic groove riff. This song doesn't sound like any other 'deth tune which is a great thing. The riffs are very catchy indeed throughout and then at the end you get a surprisingly awesome thrashfest with Draiman's vocals although it doesn't even sound like him being far more aggressive. This song kills! 9.5/10

Beginning of Sorrow - A rumbling heavy bass line and a regular pounding riff the likes of which occur regularly on this album. I like the vocal lines on this song a lot here but I think it's that rumbling nagging riff that makes it sound so cool. Love this song. It's simple but very catchy. 8/10

The Blackest Crow - Heh a bluesy acoustic riff to start which is not my thing at all but since I love Volbeat I should be used to a bit of countryish yodeling so I'll keep trying with this song. The song picks up a typical Megariff whilst maintaining the acoustic and slide guitar sounding parts in the background. The solo parts are a bit noisy and not so fluid on this tune. Let's call this hard country blues rock. I think Volbeat does it better though. 6/10

Forget to Remember - A mid paced melodic riff and no thrashing in sight on this one. A typical 90s melodic hard rock 'deth tune. Thrashers will hate it but fans of catchy melodic rock will love it. Perhaps one of the best and most catchy choruses on the album. It reminds me of a song like Trust or something like that. Like I said a thrash maniac will say it sucks but it is a VERY catchy tune. 8/10

Don't Turn Your Back - A bluesy lounge riff to start but it soon gives way to a thrashy mid paced riff although it sounds a bit simple it keeps pounding along. It sounds like Motorhead to me haha! Nice solo in this tune as well. The chorus is a bit simple though and passes by before you could say it was catchy or memorable. I like the song though cause it's a heavy chugging pounder though it's pretty short. 7.5/10

Cold Sweat - Thin Lizzy cover. I like the cover a lot as it fits the album well. A mid paced grooving song and Dave's vocals sound pretty cool 8/10

If you enjoy CW mixed with TSHF and 13 then you will like this album a lot. If you ONLY want thrash then go play the new Evile album. Me I like both styles so I'm happy. Plus the new 'deth album sounds fresh and a bit more inspired than the odds and sods 13 did. Plus Megadeth had two pretty thrashy records with UA and Endgame and parts of 13 so a more melodic rock 'deth record was not unexpected was it. Overall 7.5/10. Not an amazing rate I know but what the hell do you expect from an old geezer like Mustaine? This will do me just fine!
