melodic deathcore mix

so we rerecorded this song, we are going to make an ep, and this is the "soundcheck" of it.

drums -> ddrum triggers -> slate
guitars -> podfarm
bass -> podfarm
vox -> a cheap (and shit) behringer mic

Decent jam, sounds (to me) like there's no real low end to it. Perhaps put a low pass on the bass guitar?

i think the vocals could sound a little clearer maybe hi pass it a little and bring up the bass and itll sound epic

here's an updated version, i raised the bass level (i noticed that i forgot it absolutely... ) and highpassed the vocals higher.

is it better now?

Sounds way better, nice job! Vocals might be a touch too loud in the mix for me now, but overall, sounds killer.

yeah im totally new to mixing vocals... how can i make it less cloudy? the cymbals were recorded with an electric drumset's cymbals. oh and thanks for the great words

Try scooping around the 600-1k area. It sounds super honky, and carving out in that region should make it sound a bit more balanced.

i tried that scoop thing, i know the vocals are a bit quite, but what about the mix and master?

They sound a lot better. Try putting a bit more distortion to give 'em some presence like sopulurn said.
