+++ UPDATED WITH THE RIGHT LINKS, SRY GUYS :) +++

so here is my little test on melodyne dna on di tracks of a band i recorded.
this is the first time i ever had the opportunity to change polyphonic material.
it does not work without compromises, but for rescuing i would definately give it a try.

i was never really happy with how this arpeggio turned out when we recorded it. i always felt the
root note was too low. but the player didnt really care... to my ears its very "ugly sounding"

now with melodyne i retuned the low string.

this actually turned out very cool. it was only about 30 cents, which to my ears
means a huge improvement. it actually decreased the volume of the clip (dont know why...)
and did alter the sound of the guitar a little (it seems like it has lost some of its body...)

to take this a step further, i changed the root note of the chord and moved it a up a full step.

and even a step further i altered almost every note in the chord.

i dont think this will work for notes with palm muted heavy riffing... but who knows.
i'm going to experiment further! anyone else tried the demo out?
its on celemonys website : www.celemony.de

ADDED DROPBOX :

did you try dirty guitars? seems to me like maybe it would work better since the input signal would be much stronger. just curious. I was thinking about buying this.

i completely redid my post :) i figured out that it can actually work pretty well. now with mp3s! go have a listen

I've also tried the demo. And god-fucking-damnit that thing seemed useful. It was able to separate the notes of a chord, and I could make it in tune and in any chord I wanted to.

first time i saw that demo melodyne did i was like no way, but yeah. fix the links! i really wanna hear this too.

so i did this test because this wasthe first time i ever really needed something like pholyphonic tuning...

melodyne sounds crap for palm muted heavy riffing. its not possibble with this thing to play with a guitar
that is out of tune and expect the results to sound like a tuned guitar.

this arpeggio thing i posted worked pretty good, because their is an obvious "note-separation".
in most "metal" riffs i did tests on, it never really worked the way i would have wanted it to sound.
but its always good to try that thing out on your own riffs.

it really depends on the riff !
