Meshuggah - Catch 33

Though I haven't heard the whole thing, I just can't get into the parts I have heard. Actually, I can't get into much of anything Meshuggah has done in a long time. It seems they've more or less abandoned any musicality they once possessed in favour of playing two or three alternating notes in the most awkward time signatures possible. Granted, it could be one of those albums that's much more impressive as a whole, but I just can't imagine that being the case here.

i really like how the vocal melody from the track "Minds Mirror" is repeated after the heavy part of "Sum"

i think those two are my favorite tracks...just because they're so different...the rest are incredible, mind you, but those are my highlights.

I'm not a Meshuggah fan at all (I do like that one song Aztec Two Step and Ritual I think?) but I really got into this CD immediately, so I dunno.

I like some Meshuggah but I think if you've heard a few songs then you've heard them all.

Is it really better than the Chronicles of Narnia?

No contest. It single handedly saved the fantasy genre for me. Modern fantasy has become so repetitive with the hero goes on a quest to rid world of evil wizard. You should check it out. Author: George RR Martin First Book: A Game of Thrones. I've never read such realistic dialogue in fantasy or any genre for that matter. Great writing. I could go on and on.

Couldn't disagree more. Every album I've heard so far sounds like Meshuggah, but at the same time they each have their own unique vibe.

Haven't heard Catch 33 yet.
