hey,

on earth...

is all good...

i am in the NOTHING dimension!

christ!this album is unbelievable!

this is an extreme progression in metal!

polyrythms beyond imagination, harmonies from outer space, fucking energy in growls, monster bass!!!

I DON'T KNOW WHY MESHUGGAH ARE NOT GODS!!?

this is the future of metal!

N O W !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:yow:

From what I have heard, it seems not progressive at all, besides a bit of time sig changes... just chugging heavy stuff...

But still, I haven't heard the whole album... I want to hear a good progressive song from Nothing before I consider buying it, so what is one?

i don't know what track you have listen to...

but unfortunately(for you) there are no progressive tracks in this album.

try "straws pulled at random"!

to me it is good that this is not progressive!

i am tired of word "progressive".

:spin:

yes, the double bass is nice and all, but I barely hear any good riffs.

i think that meshuggah try to evolve the concept of metal beyond the idea of riff...

so they plat a concatenation of harmonies and rythms without melody and riffs ...

the idea is the same of modern jazz but applied to the metal contest.

i think they are fission and not fusion!!!?

it's great. and i won't try to give you reasons for this, but i like it :)

and btw, if you think it is too simple you just have not understood it. if anyone said it is not too progressive in the sense of it is not completely new, i would have to agree with him on the other hand, but too simple?

.-. no offence meant .-.

yes this is a great album also because it is not progressive in a strictly way...

not new at all

but new approach to the old ideas

great evolution

apparently more simple but microcosmically differences in it

Get over it already. It's not very good at all, quite bland, and every single song is in 4/4. Don't believe me, listen again.

infact they are 4/4 polyrythms like they ever play!

kind of illusion patterns.

much more difficult than a simple for example 7/8.

obviously there are also bands play polyrythms on asymmetrical tempos(like frank zappa)

but is not matter of complexity in tempos but in microvariations of patterns.

this is meshuggah music

take it or leave it!
