Meshuggah remix

To be honest, I haven't been listening to much metal lately. Meshuggah is the exception, they're really the only metal band REALLY pushing sonic and mental boundaries that I've heard. Everything else is rehashed black metal, thrash, and bullshit. There isn't anyone coming close to what Fredrik and company do.

They're probably the only metal band who's albums I await with grotesquely bated breath.

DEP is horrible, too  Pink Floyd and Nevermore are good in my book, though. If I were to actually keep track of everything I listen to, Nevermore wouldn't even be near the top

but anyway. I will now write a Meshuggah song for you

DUN CHA DUGGADUN DUN CHUGGACHUGGACHUG-DUG-DUG-DUG-CHIGGA-CHUNCHUN

After seeing your video of playing guitar on YouTube, I think you should learn to play the guitar first before stating something like this.

new millenium cyanide christ is the video with the air guitars and the hole in haake's sock during the air bass drum close up.

transfixation is the one where they are all wearing helmet cams and chasing each other around their rehearsal spce.

My last.fm list says enough about the geniusness of Meshuggah:

Top Artists
1 Meshuggah 331

Before you can start insulting my guitar playing, you can learn how to log in so I know exactly who the faghat is that is trying to insult me. I don't like Meshuggah, simply because it's all the same stupid chugga chugga stuff. Sure, it has different time signaturs, beats, etc, but it all sounds the same to me. I apologize for not liking something that you like, and I apologize if I think it is total shit.

Sorry man. If you don't like Meshuggah, that's fine. But you don't like them because you dont GET them. If you begrudgingly sat down and actually listened to not only what they're doing, but what they're accomplishing (and they absolutely do), you'd realize that they're making some seriously important music. (the metal Stravinsky? quite possibly)

Listen to Catch33 front to back. If you don't like it after the first five minutes, then they've done their job. :kickass:

I did sit down to Meshuggah and give them a long, deep listen. I found them obnoxious and boring. And yes, it was Catch33. Just because you claim someone doesn't "get it" doesn't mean they don't. Maybe we just don't like their style. You should go hang out on Royal Carnage with Acie and MFJ. :)

Yeah, that's what I've said. :err:
And I really like Jens Kidman screaming at the pen or whatever is in his hand.

You guys heard the I E.P.?
That disc had some insane drum parts.... freaks me out.

Like Dream Theater, I find Meshuggah pretty difficult to listen to. BUT, I respect them for their abilities and fairly progressive nature. Tomas Haake is a truly amazing drummer, too.
