Meshuggah tonight..

I was fucking pissed. I got to the club and they had sold all the tickets online already so I didnt get to go. Fuck the pound for ruining my one chance in a long time to see them... Scourge, my brother got to get in, did you see him? He was in the front and had brown hair and was wearing a shadows fall shirt at the beginnig.

I really don't see the appeal of this band...

When I first heard them I thought the same thing. I assume you've given them more than one try, but I can definitely understand people not liking them.

I like the songs I have heard by them on various compilation albums, but I could see them getting extremely boring to listen to for very long.

How is it even possible to play that stuff live? If I was trying to play that shit, I'd get lost in like five seconds, all that fucking revolving polymetric time signature shit.

It's really not that hard. The tabs aare pretty simple but the timing gives some people trouble, I'm not one of them. Now if they were like Ryan from Mudvayne's tabs, then it's a little more difficult using those timings.

BTW, Meshuggah is very mediocre.

I'm surprised it took this long for the Meshuggah haters to start posting in this thread.

Play "I" all the way through and tell me it's not difficult.

I can play Neurotika, and Soul Burn, and seriously, Slipknot is as challenging, but I'll take you up on the offer even though I have very limited interest.

Guess what, challenging music doesn't mean good music. In fact a lot of challenging music sucks because it's too focused on being challenging instead of being good. And Meshuggah sucks.

Trust me, it will take you a long time to learn.. not that the notes are hard or anything, but memorizing all the little changes in riffs takes quite some work.

And "simple" music doesn't make a band bad. Iron Maiden songs are very easy to play, but not many people on here are gonna bad mouth them :)

Meshuggahs not for everyone. I love them, I probably don't like a lot of bands you like either, but I respect the fact that they bring you joy.

It's just the fact that Meshuggah fans think they're the most difficult thing to comprehend either and almost fall into some kind of superiority complex because they listen to something that they think is really mindblowingly difficult that bothers me.
