DUDE.

What a killer band.

If you can get past the death metal vocals. they're really good.

The have some of the coolest, proggiest, technical, polly-rythmic riffs EVER!!

The guitarists leads are pretty cool too. I can hear a Ron Jazombek influence in his odd-ball solo's.

TO THE PEOPLE THAT KNOW THIS BAND: I've got a burnt cd of Destroy Irase Improve. When I looked at the website it said it was pretty old (1995)

Do they sound different now How? and what is thire best album and why? so I can go out and but it!!.....

I can't get past those horrible vocals? Call that singing?

BTW, post 200!

I can enjoy it, if it's good screaming/growling.. But some people can't even scream nor growl...

And congratulations on the 200 posts ;)

Yeah but what album should I buy

No idea.. All the songs I have heard sounds nice, basicly.. I wouldn't really be the best to suggest something, sorry.. BUT. I read that their latest album "Nothing" should be very groove-focussed, if that's any help ;)

I rekon Meshuggah ARE prog. Listen to those very odd-time, technical riffs.

Not really, at least for me. They use a lot of polyrhythm's, but also a lot of 4/4 time sigs. Technical metal maybe, but not prog (IMO).

yeah... why do people only listen to prog here??? I mean, i love symphony x, but i also dig bloodbath, dimmu, arch enemy, bodom, sonata arctica (shut up!!!), etc. etc. Be it cheesy or evil.... metal is killer.

Yeah, they kick some serious swedish ass! I saw them live last week here in Örebro, that was a total killer... Anyway, I'm quite shure that Thordendal has never even heard about Jazombek, BUT - he has told me that he is very influenced by Allan Holdsworth, and that makes sence when you listen to some of the cool sounds he uses!
