The 80's was a good time for metal and to be metalhead. Metal was undoubtably at the peak of its popularity. But you know, the 90s was good, lots of good death & black metal coming out. I dont see metal ever getting that popular again because it appears all the genres that can exist have formed but you never know what lies around the corner...

I know that metal can never "die" again like at the times when punk and grunge came trough. It´s because nowadays metal isn´t mainstream in the same way as back in the 70´s or 80´s. But it´s still larger than ever because of it´s extremely strong underground following.
