I know some people get confused by calling the vocals lyrics, but can you say no vocals and actually mean no lyrics? I don't think so.

Well, I wouldn't have said even that. =) Vocals are vocals (the sound of the vocal delivery) and lyrics are lyrics (the words), both are entirely seperate entities, and are only conceptually linked at the time of writing and of execution, and as such for the purposes of this thread, are seperate.

Adam dude! Do you mean metal bands who have NO vocals whatsoever (ie, only instrumental) or that have vocals, but with no LYRICS??
