Just rediscovered their first two albums which I hadn't heard in awhile (and haven't ever heard anything else), and they're pretty damn cool - let no one say I don't dig the 80s just cuz I don't like thrash! I would compare them to Anthrax, in the sort of rockin' American metal way (heavier than classic metal like Maiden/Priest/Accept, but not as heavy as, say, Megadeth IMO)

Aw come on, this song is so fucking awesome! (and the link is to imeem, btw, which rules - for those who don't know, it's like youtube except there's a music-only section, AND there's a great selection of tracks that are all in great-quality mp3's! You have to register to listen, but so worth IMO - thanks to Andrew/spioraid for introducing me! :))

And ignore the fact that the link says Artist: Helloween, it's actually the song Metal Church, off the album Metal Chuch, by the band Metal Church :loco:

EDIT: Sweet, I can embed it!

EDIT 2: SHIT, no I can't :erk:

I still adore Blessing in Disguise and loved the Mike Howe era of the band (yeah, shoot me). I've re-bought that album about six times over on CD, Tape and Vinyl as my copies seem to get taken by the same monster that steals one sock out of every wash.

The Dark was one of my first metal loves. Still dig it, as well as their first, Blessing, and Human Factor.

I've come to realize Human Factor just might be my favorite. Great hooks on that one.

One of my earliest guitar lessons, I had this old dude who was teaching me transcribe Start the Fire. He was probably like, "what the fuck is this shit?" I've still got the tab, hehe.

Yeah, I try to get the embeded player from imeem in other places and it never works. Que le frick?

Oh man, I would have been all over this song a couple years ago. I still dig it now, but man I would have insisted that my punk band do a cover of it back then. :p

Hahaha, well I'd hardly consider it punk, but if you guys played it well I'd be a happy man regardless! :D
