What an utterly shit list they came up with. What the FUCK where they thinking? The latest Arch Enemy on place 16 and the first and only Maiden album on the list on place 45? FUCK OFF AND THEN SOME.

I'll give them credit, at least they put some Metal bands on the list. Last issue of False Metal Hammer I bought was two years ago. Linkin Park on the cover, the only Metal band on there was BLAZE in the "Why the fuck did they do that?" column

The fact that there is only one Maiden album on the list and it's at #45 shows the list is bunk. I can only agree that #6 - 9 is the most glaring idiocy. This isn't so much a list of Top Heavy Albums, more just an advertising push for the bands the mag are forced to cover with some old albums thrown in at random points to get the old fans off their backs.

There was an interesting thing about two years back where both Classic Rock and False Metal Hammer did a Classic Albums poll of their readers. Suffice to say, the Classic Rock results were legit whilt FMT's was the biggest list of wank you ever saw. Someone sent a letter to Classic Rock pointing out that the FMT poll was pointless as their readership's idea of a 'classic album' is the one they bought the week before. Dumb kids simply just don't know what they're talking about.

There are some good albums on that list, but that order is pretty well fucked. Seems like a whole fuckton of metal classics are absent. Also a few entries are about as metal as my morning dump.

Ayeka is right, that list is surprisingly good for that particular magazine. They totally embraced the whole nu-metal thing, and I think now that's pretty much over, they are trying to concentrate on some of the better metal that are becoming more popular these days in the mainstream (better at least than what they were covering a couple of years back). So this list is nothing to be surprised about really.

#6-#9 must be a joke
Only #6 and #9? The odd thing about the list (well, one of the many) is, that in most cases, they don't even have the best disc by the band that they chose. Case in point:

1 judas priest-stained class
2 black sabbath-black sabbath
3 metallica-kill em all
5 pantera-vulgar display of power
9 killswitch engage-the end of heartache
15 dimmu borgir-stormblast
16 arch enemy-anthems of rebellion
17 death-scream bloody gore
18 shadows fall-the art of balance
22 megadeth-peace sells but whos buying
45 iron maiden-killers
58 lamb of god-new american gospel
76 children of bodom-hatecrew deathroll

In my opinion, none of these CDs represent the best of the band listed. I also always find it odd, when in Top 100 lists, they don't have two entries by any of the artists.

Though perhaps the funniest aspect is, nothing Iron Maiden has ever done, surpasses the music of Slipknot, Chimaira or Korn.

Zod

zod is correct

I mean how can they credit godflesh 'godflesh' over streetcleaner

ans: because they can't because they haven't heard it because they don't have a fucking clue and just haked together a fadist list then randomly peppered in a few 'credible' albums that they probably asked someone down the pub for.

load of wank

yeah I agree with everyones responses. Still though, they have some great somewhat obscure groups on there. sleep, Khanate, Today is the Day, Iron Monkey- I never would have expected to see them. The problem with most of the picks, is that they didnt pick the groups best album- just their first. I mean Temple of the Morning Star has its moments but its no In the Eyes of God, or sadness remains. Soul of a new machine is quite excellent, but its no demanufacture. Etc. etc.

Oh, and its a terrible list, but a damn sight better than the absolutely awful list metal-rules.com put out. That was a disgrace. Once again music should not be objectified by these damn lists. Why all the lists all the sudden? Is this like the vh1 effect?

Are you trying to be funny, or are you really just the clueless child you always make yourself out to be?

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the list, since those three bands are well above the first Iron Maiden entry. :p
