Metal Pre-amps

Anyone suggest a good pre-amp for metal guitar, vox, and bass? What do you use? I'm considering the API A2D. Anyone use it?

Thanks for the tip man. Before I posted this I tried to do a search for API A2d which is kind of hard since the search engine only allows search terms of greater than 3 characters. Anyway the shootout was a great help. I really like the Vintech Dual 72s.
