Who here has heard it? Who wants to?
Information: It's the In the Sign of Evil EP re-recorded and a bunch of other old/unreleased tracks, with the line-up of the ItSoE; Grave Violator, Chris Witchhunter and Tom Angelripper.

I've heard two songs, Outbreak of Evil and Blasphemer and I was pretty surprised actually. I thought, of course, that it'd be a tribute to their old stuff, but I didn't expect anything this raw. I don't know if Mr. Witchhunter is that untight and sloppy on purpose or if he was just mad drunk out of his mind, but that's some seriously fucking bad drumming. On Outbreak of Evil, bad enough to take the experience down a notch but otherwise quite OK, sounds like it would have if he was still 17 and just hammered at the things as madly as he could. The production is raw, not 1983-raw but nowhere close to 2007-polished.

All in all, I like what I've heard and I'll get it. 50/50 novelty/kickassness. And I actually think the cover is pretty kool.

Black metal is the game I play 'cos noone showed me the right way

the drumming was bad on the originals also ... shoot up one of the tracks, sounds like fun

I don't like the production. The drums especially. The toms drown out a lot of the other sounds. Haven't really listened to the album, just sampled some songs.

Like I said, I've only heard two tracks so here they are (Blasphemer and Outbreak of Evil):

I have nothing against the production, nekro but everything's clearly audible - this shit isn't supposed to sound like Britney Spears... But then again I've only listened on crappy laptop speakers so far.

are you shitting me? ... these rerecordings rule ... if anything the vocals are too high and bright in the mix ... but the shitty drum work fits this perfectly.

Taken from another forum:

here is the 411 on this in more detail from Sodom forum:

"""But today (we're working in the studio on some re-recordings for the new album) we got shocked.

Tom and me have been really happy with the endmix of the album. But today we've got the promos of the record company. The mastered version sounds awful on the pressed CD. Too much compression and limiting, the complete CD sounds distorted.

First of all, we're re-recording some parts for "Outbreak of evil". After weeks of editing nobody really realised how bad the timing on some parts was, except Chris' normal swaying. So we decided to do some rework on it and the label agreed, 'cause the release date isn't in danger.

After all the promo just should feature three shortened clips (without the songs we're still working on), but the label released the complete album. Tom and me heard it today and we've been really pissed off. It has lost its complete transparency and sounds like... I don't know. Anyway: This one won't be the one, that will be released in September/October. There will be a new master, so the promo may be one day a real rarity, because it will be completely different to the official release.

But it's like I said: The release date is not in danger! """

hehe ... yeah the drums on OOE sound like his arm is broken ... slows down and speeds up at weird intervals ...

but Tom sounds awesome :kickass:

Yeah, I'm glad they're really taking this project seriously, I think they realize how much it means to long time fans who worship this particuar recording.

I'm a really, really, really big Sodom fan, but I really couldn't get into this re-recording/compilation/whatever the hell it is.

It just doesn't strike me at all.

Then again, I only heard the promo... So I'll still buy it when it goes retail in hopes it gets better.

works better for me than Destruction's recent re-recording of their early stuff ...
The guitar sound on their early stuff is the Holy Grail of German Thrash ... they should not have fucked with that.
