They were the best band in the history of Metal -they now suck beyond compare- its like Seinfeld or even Led Zeppelin and the Beatles- one has so much more respect for something when they go out on top. By continuing to Tour with shitty bands, and release shitty music, Metallica continues to tarnish their once great reputation- their reputation is going to be lower than yours Taking the Music Back.

Metallica released some wonderful material - probably better than anybody else's in the Major 4 of thrash. I personally enjoy the Black Album and Load as well, but I can understand why some may not.

Nah. I like some of Metallica's ealier works but ANY of Slayer's work rules over them any day. Anthrax is alright but never great.. And Megadeth... they're weak and I dont think they should be even considered to be the greatest in thrash. If I got to choose the great thrash bands to be Kreator, Sepultura and Slayer.

Megadeth is weak? Sepultura have only 2 alright albums, only about 3 or 4 good songs, but that is all. The same goes for Slayer. Rust In Peace is to be considered one of the best thrash albums ever, with Peace Sells not far behind

As for Metallica, any single song from the first 4 albums reigns over the aforementioned bands entire catalogue.

Metallica do indeed, "suck" these days. First five albums were all incredible, especially Justice and RTL, but the Loads were poor, S+M is a fucking disgrace,Garage Inc was a money grabbing pile of crap and St Anger is the worst "album" ever.

You must be mad. Sepultura only have 2 great albums, Beneath and Arise - everything else is mediocre. Anthrax have consistently brought out great records and their new one WCFYA is fucking brilliant. Megadeth are also a strong consistent band, like someone else said, Rust In Peace is a true classic and blows away ANY Sepultura record.
And although I like Slayer, I don't think Diabolus In MUsica, God Hates Us All, Divine Intervention or Show No Mercy even come CLOSE to Justice or Ride The Lightning.
Still, it's all about opinions I s'pose!

St. anger was a HUGE disappointment, but I think it is a bit of a start. Listening to the riffs themselves, I think if they didn't rely too much on Pro Tools and Bob "I'm the shittiest producer in the fucking world" Rock, they might have made a pretty good album.

That being said, no matter what kinda shit they release these days, go see them live. If you can get through the shit opening acts, Metallica's set more than makes up for it. Nothing but classics. Just think of them as the Rolling Stones of metal.

I don't know how you can say Metallica live are any good - I saw that Rock Am Ring thing on TV and Kirk couldn't even play the fucking solos - he sounded awful. To think he used to be one of the best soloists in the world.
