Mic Pre comparison - Digi 002 vs Octopre LE vs TLA Ivory 5051

Hi guys,

just recently took the plunge into a new mic pre/processor and thought i'd do a A-B-C test between all the 3 pre options I have available:-

1. Digidesign 002
2. Focusrite Octopre LE
3. TL Audio Ivory 5051 Mk II

All are just short vocals clips, recorded with a Sontronics STC2 microphone, pop shield in between, and lips about 10 inches away from the mic.

No extra compression or eq has been added to the below 3 clips and all recorded at roughly the same gain level.

and also below is another clip of the TLA but with the compressor on at 4:1, soft knee, fast attack and release and -2db of 1k.

nice, thanks for this!!!

its hard to really tell with vox about which i prefer, maybe something with more harmonic content such as distorted guitars would have been easier to judge the differences
