mixing mic'd guitar strings with electric signal

Keep the Mic'd acoustic guitar dry. Nothing but EQ and compression. Play around with the electric signal. Keep it low and add a tinge of overdrive, some chorus/flanger, reverb, blah...

I think some of the Marilyn Manson albums have an omnidirectional mic pointed at the electric guitar and blended in for clarity with the heavily distorted guitars. I can't remember where I read it.

Using on electric. I was trying to run them into the same amp sim parallel with the dry electric signal with good results but I'm not sure which frequencies work best, how to best side chain the gates, multi band or no, etc,.

Seems like uncharted territory though haha
Will post samples with and without once I figure out a good combination for whoever may be interested
