Mobile phone app for rehearsal recording

Hi Guys. The thing is that my phone has a very nice mic but it clips like crazy at rehearsals.

I've been looking for an app that could lower the input gain with no luck. Some apps seem to have the option to lower the input gain but that's bullshit. They only record at lower levels and the resulting track still clips even when speaking close to the mic at medium/high levels.

Any ideas?
