I just got a 250 EUR pre-payment from a client so it's time to buy some gear :).

Here are the options:

I really need a decent DI and I compared the Radial JDI to the Countryman 85 and it seems that the Radial has a more even frequency response. It will be used mainly for Bass-tracking and the occasional EMG-DI for re-amping (I don't do a lot of metal these days).

Other option is a pair of SDC (like the oktavas). I'm sick of renting Neumann KM184 pairs for 60 EUR/day so I'm searching for alternatives.

I would get the overheads since you're renting them, over the long run that is a better investment because you don't have to waste money renting anymore

alright, so I've decided to get the SDC pair. But Oktava or Rode nt5's? Or maybe something else? Help me spend my money Sneap forum! :D

I like the Oktavas but the nt5 seem to also be a good choice. Your best bet is to get the 012s from Oktavamod but they cost a bit more.
