Moongels loosing their stickiness!

Probably not the best place to post this, as 95% of you don't track real drums ;p

But I bought some moongels a while back, and over time they've lost a lot of their stickiness.. some to the point where hitting the drum makes it bounce off. I tried washing them.. is there anything else to regain the stickiness? Bar buying new ones?

I washed them a few times... but they just loose the grip! It's a typical waste material... like strings... you'll have to buy newones from time to time...

I'm currently learning from one of Australias best live sound engineers Ian Taylor and he showed us $2 packets of small gel pictures and letters he buys from crazy clarkes. He reasoning was 1. they're cheaper and 2. he can write silly things like POO on the kit.

Dude it's 6 dollars for a pack of moon gel. Well, maybe more in Australia. I buy 5 at a time. We go through tons at the studio... Just buy a few packs.

$20 here in Australia. Along with $30 for a snare drum head, $110 for a bass drum head, $25 for a pair of drum sticks, $900 for a cymbal. Fark.

Holy shit! Shipping charges must be murderous to get stuff out there. $20 for moon gel? Crazy... but look on the bright side. At least you guys have cool accents...

Also I'll deaden heads with any number of things if moon gel isn't around... Board tape, Duct tape etc... but moon gel is usually the best way.
