NFU, you need to just stfu. I'm sorry if Moonsorrow bores you, but they are not just another cliche aggressive band. I'm sorry that you can't hear them for what they are, but they are vastly superior to 90 something percent of metal. And yes, there is more music out there than Swedish/Finnish/Melodic Death and Black Metal. Why are you assuming this is all we listen to? Hell, you know that's not true; I listen to Korn for example! I'm not trying to convince your stupid ass anymore, just don't make assumptions about the rest of us and don't try to pass of your opinion as fact. And to say we are ignorant for liking Moonsorrow? Get off your fucking high horse, man.

So is every band you listen to completely unique in their genre?

of course not. but i choose not to listen to generic metal. it offers a lot less to me than standard music from other genres often does. however i dont listen to any boring or generic stuff that i can really think of anyway, so its a non-issue.

I guess we just have a slight different idea of "generic." I think Moonsorrow offer something that most similar bands don't. Of course they're not unique but I think they pull it off better than others. I really don't listen to much of that viking stuff so I guess they're kinda the one band I really picked out from it.

knowledge is the key to battling genericism. the more you know, the better scope you have of what is special and what is standard. think about that.

I can tell standard/generic from special/unique/whatever, its just that I don't automatically toss a band aside cause they're not unique. If its pleasing to my ears, then I'm happy with it, even if something similar has been done before. I mean don't you think of lot of old prog bands sound the same? Maybe its because I'm pretty new to that type of music but several of the bands I've checked out have so many of the same moments in various songs, a lot of the lyrics seem to deal with similar subject matter, and half of the vocalists sound almost the same. Agree to disagree?

I have checked out this band. I can't get over the cheesiness, and the lame folk relishes. Alot of better bands I would rather listen too. Not a great name for a band btw.
