So I've got a mixed mp3 cd with around 130 songs on it, and it seems like every time I listen to it Annihilation of Hammerfest comes on. So this had gotten me in need of knowing what Thor's prayer is.

"`Allvise Ygg, Maktige Harjafader
Guda av Asars och vaners att
Hor mina ord, nar som jag svar
Att om tusen vintrar ater ta var ratt?"

I tried a few online sites but they were less than useless.

since ygg and härjafader is another name for odin i guess it's not a thor-prayer ;) anyway, it's something like:

omniscient ygg, mighty Harjafader (~father of ravaging)
gods of the family of asir and vaner
hear my words, as i vow;
that in a thousand winters reclaim our rights

the swedish version also has rhymes which make it more beautiful than this crude literl translation. i couldn't remember what you call asar and vaner in english but i guess it's pretty similar.

I asked about this a few month ago and this is what i got...

Allwise (allmighty) Ygg. Mighty Herjefather
Gods of Æser's and Vaner's ætt
Hear my words, now as I swear:
That I in 1000 Years Again will Claim our Right

Anyone know what the swedish bit in Ride for Vengeance means? I figured the beginning to mean something like:
Mighty God
In the Golden Hall...
Mighty Gods
In the Golden Hall
Aid me in the battle
Against the sonslayers
The High (?) shall
For the wounds get revenge
And blood shall be paid
In blood

I'm drunk.

well since i'm not drunk ;) i'll give that ride for vengeance-bit a try as well even though hoyn already has. here goes:

mighty gods
in the golden hall
aid me in battle
against the son slayers
the high one
shall avenge the cuts (slashes)
and blood shall be paid
with blood

yeah but it's says "vintrar (winters)" not "år (years)" in the booklet for the cd, even though it sounds as if johans sings something else
