i wouldn't be surprised if all the talking to god and burning bush stuff was because of drugs. if they could find a way to prove that that'd be pretty intense. also i could easily imagine people getting a religious expirience, just eat like a quarter - half ounce of good mushrooms in a good place and you'll probably either go insane or have a revelation.
