Motley Crue

Randy Castillo (ex-Ozzy) played drums on it. He probably didn't tour because I think he was battling cancer the last couple of years.... he died last year. :(

Yep, that's why Randy didn't tour. I was disappointed when they cancelled their Australian tour, but the blow was softened when I found out Randy wouldn't have been there anyway. He was the main person I wanted to see when Ozzy toured Australia back in 1998.

MÖTLEY CRÜE To Re-Release Catalog, Pen More Books

MÖTLEY CRÜE have signed a deal with Universal Music Enterprises to re-release all of their albums with bonus tracks on April 1, according to Rolling Stone. They will also issue a new greatest hits album on March 4, DVD releases of "Lewd, Crued & Tattoed" and "VH1 Behind the Music: Mötley Crüe" in April and another video collection later in the year, and a career-spanning box set for the holiday season.

"A lot of times as an artist you'll say, 'These ten songs are what we think is the best pop for this record. It will get the message across the best,'" bassist Nikki Sixx told the magazine. "But later you go back and say, 'That was really a great song, but it was a ballad and we didn't need two ballads on a record.' So now it's cool because the record is it's own and then there's the bonus material, so you don't lump them all together."

In other CRÜE news, Sixx is entertaining offers for a new book deal in the wake of the tremendous success of the band's best-selling autobiography, "The Dirt: Confessions of the World's Most Notorious Rock Band". "It's called 'The Heroin Diaries'," Sixx said of the proposed book. "It's basically 1986 to 1987, Christmas morning to Christmas morning, my story through the making of the 'Girls, Girls, Girls' record, the jets, the tours, the Rolling Stone cover, the overdoses and arrests, and a year later sitting there in front of the Christmas tree going, 'Fuck, nothing has changed. I'm still sitting here alone.' It's kind of like a peek into that very dark era."

*Obvious joke alert*

They already rereleased their albums! Who do they think they are? Iron Maiden?

Still, that book will be a good read, even if I hated all the members of Motley Crue with a vengeance by the time I got to the end of The Dirt :)

Lewd, Crued and Tattooed is pretty cool, but couldn't been way better. It's extremely tame for a Motley concert anyhoo.

It's neither lewd or crued.. :(

Yep Samantha did the tour... not meaning to sound sexist or anything because I'm all for chick rock bands (Vixen, Lita Ford and Lee Aaron ROCK!), but a girl in MOTLEY CRUE just doesn't seem right... however I haven't seen Lewd Crued and Tattooed and she might be really good heh.

I think it's strange that this was their first live video... I mean Crue had some of the best tours ever in the '80s, you'd think Nikki would go into their archives and release something they shot on the Feelgood tour or something! And I heard that the backstage footage and making of New Tattoo and all that is extremely tame for Crue on the DVD... again, Nikki HAS to be sitting on some really wild home footage from their wild days in the '80s. They should put together a video in the vein of Skid Row's "Roadkill" and "Oh Say Can You Scream" I reckon.

Those 2 Skid Row ones are 2 of the best home videos ever! Theres a dvd copy of each of them from Japan at Utopia but they are over a hundred dollars each :(

I got Roadkill and Oh Say Can You Scream on video for about $15 each. AWESOME videos! They're hilarious hehe. Except my opinion of Sebastian went a little downhill after seeing them, his voice is really inconsistent live. He is off-key half the time and misses words, doesn't hit the high notes, etc (then again same with Vince Neil, Axl Rose and Bret Michaels)... but that's probably just coz he's always so out of breath running around like madman hehe. :) That live version of "18 & Life" on Roadkill though is AMAZING!!!! :notworthy

I have no DVD player. And even if I did, I'd have no money left having to spend $25-30 on music DVDs all the time and on rare horror imports.

Yep, I'll stick to my $4 Cash Converters and video store ex-rental finds for now I think :)
