Mr V's life

Yesss... that is the next fetish in the porno industry Hunky nature loving intellectual metalheads. Maybe they should join this swedish guy :www.gunthernet.com

Yes, I read that especially in the gay porn industry, treehuggers are extremely wanted.

hmm the word 'metalhead' kinda gets a twisted meaning in this context...:err:

ah well, as long as it's an intellectual metalhead we've got no reason to complain.:p

That is true not only for gay porn. Surely you are all familliar with the Norwegian treehugger hippie-porn site FuckForForest.com

Um, let's see...

He's a jester from hell and the shadows almighty :p
OH!
And a scientist of darkness older than the constellations :p

Just kidding, I agree with you though, give him privacy, in the end it doesn't matter, just the music. And he makes great FVCKING music... His solo stuff is amazing, and Borknagar with him just fvcking pwns....!! But we already know that. We are so lucky to experience this man's love for music and his AMAZING lyrics. By far the best songewriter in my opinion, at least most poetic. Anyhow, let him live his life, and only inquire when Borknagar will tour or when new stuff is released (a dvd maybe, etc)

yeah, he can certainly live his life, but I think it's normal to want to know more about an artist If you are really interested in, and you love his amazing music...

I agree, it's just natural to be curious about the life or interests of someone you admire. I listen to his music in one form or another at least once a day (my fiancee is SICK of him haha) and it's cool to come across an interview or random tidbits about him or the band.

On the other hand, especially in the US, there are countless magazines and tv shows and channels dedicated to being up the asses of "celebrities" 24/7 and I couldn't fucking care less. Don't know them, don't want to. I have nothing but complete respect and admiration for Mr. V and though all I really need are in his lyrics and music, it is interesting to know something of the man behind the genius. I think that's all you were asking for too. :)

and  @ "Mr. V is at this point a being of pure energy, and occasionally his image can be captured via oscilloscope. These oscillations are then converted to sound, and recorded edited, and arranged by Matthias, Oystein, or whoever he happens to be working with at the time. It is theorized that this explains the deeply insightful nature of his recently scientific/metaphysical-themed lyrics, but that may be strictly coincidence."

'cause we are gossipy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(not sure this word has the same meaning as in italian)

It does. :p

It's more natural for women to be curious about people's lives, not just "famous" people. We're usually the ones that remember names and birthdays, who is married to who, who has what kids, where someone lives, etc, so that our men don't look like fools. I tend to remember all of that stuff but not care, guess I'm a bad wife.

Mmmm this isn't true. ;) Men are just as bad; there's probably just a lot more social pressure on women to remember personal friends and family members because of their greater role in private / home life compared to males. But ask a guy about his job... you'll find they have an equal amount of juicy stuff to say about their co-workers as their wives do about their neighbors.

Interest in people you admire for what they do is a bit different, I think. If you identify with someone's writing or music, you start to wonder if you identify with them in general... it usually doesn't work that way since behind most great artists there's a mediocre person, but that doesn't stop us from hoping that there's a giant among us, and that they'd let us live vicariously through their shadow. =)

i totally agree.... you often create great expectations about your favourite artist but sometimes they don't match with reality.
it's happened to me with king diamond, my favourite singer ever, he was god to me (he is still god to me musically speaking) but i'm starting to understand he is not so perfect as i hoped and thought....
he greatly disappointed me when some months ago he was touring the europe and he delayed one concert in italy (after six years we was waiting him) just because the lights weren't good.... i spoke with the owner of the venue and with some friends of mine who organized the entire italian tour and both said he had behaved like a pop star asking stupid and impossible things.
but i think that the ugliest aspect of this fact is that he betrayed his fans because a lot of people made 3/4/5 h of car to reach the place and all they got was a notice with CONCERT DELAYED wrote on it...

I agree with with both Lefay and Naglfar, we always see our idols as someone bigger than us...but I think It's absolutely normal for fans :loco:

True. But most people have some side that most people wont like. And you can see it this way. If he didnt care about you, then he wouldnt carry about the lightning. Imean he wanted to do a good show right? What ive noticed is that King Diamonds shows are very theatrical, so it adds alot.

i would have prefered to see a show with bad lights than not to see it at all!!!!!!! and everybody who was there tought the same thing...... who cares about the lights? we are waiting for such a long time...give us the king!!!! (and also what a big waste of time and money!!!!)
i've already seen king two times and i know what kind of show can he perform (the first time was in a theater...really the right place!!!) but i do not think the reason why he didn't perform is truly the one we were told... two days before he played in a smaller and worse venue without any problem (i was there too, i had tickets for 2 dates) and he refused to play in a place where other great bands like anthrax and rage (and many others) had no problems. maybe they don't need such strong lights but when the sound is ok, i suppose you can reach an accomodation!?!
which is the real reason for he didn't play? i think we will never know it!!!!
anyway he loose a great point in my respect....

Rock stars aren't as weird as we make them out to be. But when you're a performer, when you act weird you set off hundreds, sometimes thousands of people with your quirkiness. I'm in academia and I'll tell you there's more loonies here than they know what to do with... and people on the outside see it as typical or endearing. But in any business people are insane. King Diamond was basically pissed off that his work environment was not exactly what he expected it to be, so he threw a tantrum. Personally, to me that's not any different than a professor who yells at his class for not reading into a book the same way he does, throwing a fit when people can't answer the questions only he would think up.

Guess I'm saying King's a jerk maybe, but the point of my other posts wasn't so much that we look up to people, but that the people we look up to are just normal people, and it always irks us when we find out they're just like us.

A lot of people were pissed at King during the last european tour it seems:D Even here in Slovenia, I know people who made the (long) trip to two shows only to have them both canceled:)They were not happy...
