Multiband Distortion

Seems pretty interesting. Anyone ever try it? Seems easy enough to do..I think I'm going to start experimenting and see what comes out of it.

Are you talking about iZotope trash or ohmforce Ohmicide?
Or just simply splitting the signal up and distorting each band separately?

I wouldn't bother with it for guitars

I'm talking about splitting up the guitar into different bands and distorting the bands differently. I think some really cool, unconventional tones could be discovered by doing this.

When I heard about that plug distortion was the 1st thing that came to mind. It would be sweet on bass, distort that top end, and keep the lows nice and tight.

reaper's got a JS plugin that splits the signal into up to 5 bands, i tried using it on a kick drum to process the different bands differently, but in the end i found i sounded too much like 5 different drums being hit at the same time

well that's what the two plugins I mentioned do. and yes they can.

but I don't like them for guitars or bass
