What kind of cpu do you have? Intel, amd?

I ask this because it will literally be cheaper for you to get a whole new motherboard + ram then to upgrade that shit you already have. If you have a decent cpu that can fit into another socket then it is all the better (and cheaper).

Shh... geeks. :p (just kidding)
I am guessing that Mort has a proprietary pc with that kind of ram (Compaq, dell, etc), so chances are it's going to be a bit of a hassle to install too. Those companies like to put their version of safety harnesses inside chassis.

I prefer WMP 10 - I stepped back from 11 because of some compatibility problems. I just miss the cool skins I had with winamp. =(

Yeah, it is a Dell that I bought off this dude my stepdad knows. It was better than my old computer so that at the very least is good :D

If you have a budget, I will link you to some good pieces - a decent system that would kick the ever loving shit out of yours probably wouldn't cost too much. Decent pc's can range from $300/$400-$10,000, depending upon your preferences (video editing, sound recording, gaming, etc.)

Since you have a p4, I rec getting a new motherboard + ram, here would be a good example:

Motherboard: Intel BLKD946GZISSL LGA 775 Intel 946GZ Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - OEM

Ram: Patriot 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)

Total price = about $150. You get a motherboard that will actually let you upgrade your cpu when you are ready, and let you install more ram when you want too. Not only that, the ram is archaic or anything yet either!

Don't ever go for cheaply made parts, it will cost you more in the long run.

All around your pc should be a bit faster, as now will you more than likely have a better front side bus (your memory cap essentially), you will have better performance; of course, to be truly sure, I will need to know if you have a video card or if you use onboard video...

I don't really have any money right now - seein' as how I'm jobless right now and need to save up for a car more than anything. But I'll come to you if I do happen to come across some spare cash down the line.

Think of it this way, the longer you wait, the less expensive parts will be. HOWEVER!! The longer you wait, the less up to par the parts you originally wanted will be.

Either way, I'll help if it's needed :)
