Im sure everyone has heard of OSI right? Or at least the project Kevin Moore, Jim Matheos, and Mike Portnoy (if you dont know who those guys are, do yourself a favor and shoot yourself for your ignorance) were working on right? Well I wasnt so sure how good this would be because I know that Daniel Glidenlow was supposed to sing, but was dropped from the project. Kevin Moore took over the vocal department.

To make a long boring story short, I managed to download (a hard feat when it seems like my school blocks some file sharing) a few tracks and it really does kick ass. Moore sounds good on it and musically it sounds like a cross between Disconnected era Fates Warning and a tiny bit like Images Era Dream Theater.

I really liked what I heard so I just put in an order to The End Records (www.theendrecords.com) and got the special edition for 13 bucks. Not too shabby. I will be anticipating this CD's arrival

Amazing! a music related topic

(Sorry I don't have anything to say on this thread :p but I had the urge to say that  )

I'm skeptical about this... I'll have to hear it first... although your comparisons do give me hope (Disconnected and I&W... as opposed to the incessant T00L comparisons)

Most of what I've heard from the album sounds nothing like Tool, more akin to Moore's work in Chroma Key with more progressive elements. The ten-minute Shutdown, which as you all know features Steven Wilson, could have easily been on In Absentia.

Cool. I'm getting it.

Yngster: You are in for an amazing musical journey with "In Absentia". It will change your world.

I'm having a really hard time making myself listen to the entire album (In Absentia). The first few tracks are pretty good, but then it loses me. My biggest problem is with the singer's voice...to me it sounds like *he* is about to fall asleep, and that certainly doesn't keep me Awake either!
