musicians?

yes yes and no

lol same answer

there's thousands of musicians more talented out there who never made it, i'm not knocking my own abilities but I have to be realistic in knowing the chances are ridiculously slim of getting anywhere. i'm keeping music as a side thing/hobby.

yes I'm a musician, yes I'm confident in my stuff and right after summer I'll try to push it through in some places and I won't make commercial success... Then again if somebody would be willing to listen to it more than once I'd consider it success and that's quite likely to happen I guess... So change the last one to yes :D

daz436 and wreath: yes, it is good to be realistic...that way you wont be as dissapointed.

It's not even the case of being dissappointed... The music I make is kind of niche so it's commercial success is doomed in the first place  but I still want to share it with people, so that would define success for me

In a while I will have the first song done for my one-man project (plus I have lots of ideas lying around), and soon I will buy some new recording equipment. When that song is on tape, I'll have to try and think of a bandname, make a website, etc. I'm pretty confident about my music, although I don't think it will couldn't ever be more than a small underground 'success'. I'll just see where it goes, my dream is to put out an album (or albums) of my own, my dream is not to be populair or putting out millions of discs.

^ I see one man projects are rising in numbers these days... It's getting harder and harder to set up a good band plus you have full artistic control over what you do. The only problem is the impossibility of going live with what you do...

But that's life ;)

Yeah, I just don't have good musicians around where I live. At least, I do not know them. I do have a friend who is a good bassist though. Anyway, I like writing all the parts, I'm not too bad in composing bass, synth or drums (I'm a guitarist). Also, I like to go crazy with layering, parts that have six different guitar parts going at the same time, that sort of stuff, so going live will be difficult anyway.

I've been playing the electric guitar for almost 2 years, and made a few finished songs (although technical problems with my pc and the program I use to record have resulted in having only 4 finished songs and about 30 unfinished projects that I would really like to work on if my pc wouldn't fuck up everytime :erk:. On top of that everytime I finish a song, a couple of months later my guitar ability and producing skills have risen, so I often end up rerecording the song and adding, changing to it so that I never actually have any finished songs :erk:). Anyways I hope to have enough material for about 40-50 minutes of songs sometime this summer, maybe draw a little cover for it and make some copies to give to my friends. If they like it it'll already be a success and who knows what the future could bring.

yes, why wouldnt i and what do you consider success?

if you enjoy the music you've written and had the opportunity to perform for other people then I'd consider that a success. Who gives a shit if anyone else likes it? that just makes it more fun to perform.

I like all the music I've written as well as my band members songs we write music that we enjoy and I feel with every song we've written we've made vast improvements from the the past songs. So its becoming easier everytime I pick upa guitar and open powertab.
