My afternoon with music buddies!!!

Like a rock
Well I just got back from my buddy's basement where me and a couple of guys jammed on some cool songs wich I think you guys will enjoy :) With just hung out and played anything we remembered from back when we had a band! And we tried some new shit and had the craziest time!!! By the way, I was on vocal duties for all songs and played rhythm guits on some...

Setlist:
Iced earth - Storm Rider
What a good song to warm up to! Fast as fuck picking with aggressive vocals! I did not play guitar on this one and it went even better than it ever did!!!

Metallica - Blackened
...Played it an hundred time, still hard to get perfectly tight! Lol... Our Lead Guit didn't remember the solo so well so he threw in lots of sweep arpegios...

Overkill - Elimination
Picked up my trusty little guitar for this one... Overkill is actually one of the voice I nail the most accuratly! It went better than ever and it felt like hell (...it this case, it's a good thing!)

Kreator - People of the Lie
Having my guitar in hand, I started that legendary opening riff and everyone followed as if it was planned so we headbanged like we always did to that simple yet so effective song!!! Pretty easy to sing too

Death Angel - The Organization
Ugh... Damn those vocals are hard to nail... I sound like shit on this one but it was still great fun :)

Slayer - Tormentor
CLassic... went pretty well but was kinda fast :)

Overkill - The Years of Decay
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is the song that I want played at my funeral... I get pretty "into it" when it comes to this one so I left my guitar to Mike for him to handle rhythms ...

Exodus - Thorn in my Side
So groovy... That riff just makes me headbang like crazy! It went very very well!!

Sadus - Through the Eyes of Greed
Nobody remebered that song properly but we tried it anyway... I don't have to tell you that Charles had a hard time on bass :)

Testament - Practice What You Preach...
Classic... one of our best renditions too!!!

Judas Priest - Painkiller
Well... this one hasn't changed a bit... everything went almost perfectly... Dave is still not able to nail that sweep picking bit it the middle though... :)

After that, we tried some shit we had played on our own but never played together just for laughs!

Iced Earth - The Reckoning
That song is pretty easy on all levels... It was almost perfect I just couldn't find the right frequency in the chorus... The rest was great!!!

Testament - Dog Faced Gods
...Damn Eric Perterson has a very tricky right hand!!!! That song very fucking slow because Mike couldn't nail the picking speed... My voice just isn't as low as chuck's either.... sucked :(

Kreator - Violent Revolution
So much fun!!! It went very well too!!!

Annihilator - Imperiled Eyes
MUCH MUCH fun!! wasn't that tight though...

Death - The philosopher
Pretty easy death song.... went smoothly

Well... I just had to share with some people :)

i havent heard Iced Earth or Sadus & wasnt much into Death. just not a big fan of the growls but the rest of the setlist is kool. i didnt mind Kreator on some songs tho

cool - sounds like fun! :)

Give my best regards to Charles and his broken fingers - I am refering to the Sadus track he was playing:) it was yesterday morning i was listening to Chronicles of chaos and it amazed me as it always does.

have you got any sounds from that meeting? if not - next time record some! that would be fun to listen to! - I would grag a beer and pretend i am in your basement:) hail internet!:)

hey check also this - this is our [Mike] - and his version of Tornado of souls http://divx.pl/mike/ts_mix3.mp3 solo starts at 3:08

Cool stuff. My band practice the same day wasn't quite as productive...we polished our four originals, worked on the riffage for a fifth, and then jammed on "Creeping Death," "Hells Bells," "As Long As the Raven Flies" (Amon Amarth), a couple Dying Fetus tunes, and "Iron Man." I think next time we're going to work up covers of Kreator's "Tormentor," Overkill's "Powersurge," and maybe "D.N.R."

My friend Max thinks he can get us a gig at SF's Cannabis Club. That would be pretty sweet.

Hey I just listened to that Tornado of Souls recording, sounds cool. The solo was pretty well done, did he do taps on the solo? The Mustaine sounding part sounds like parts of it were tapped out.
