I won't be going to another record fair until mid August, but just because I'm bored, here's some of the stuff I'll be looking for:

ANTHRAX: Moshers 1986-91 (borrowed this from Duellist and loved it, but can't find the bugger anywhere)

AEROSMITH: Pandora's Box (3 CD set of all their best 70s stuff)

BLACK SABBATH: Seventh Star (Iommi and Hughes on the same album. Where can you go wrong?)

JUDAS PRIEST: Jugulator (just out of curiosity)

METALLICA: Ride The Lightning
" : Master of Puppets
" : And Justice For All

(I'd prefer to buy these 2nd hand, so JamesnLars Inc don't get any of my money)

OZZY: Live & Loud (No explanations necessary here I trust)

SCORPIONS: Deadly Sting- The Mercury Years (most comprehensive best-of I've found so far, even if it leaves out the early stuff)

SINERGY: To Hell and Back
" : Suicide By My Side

(would have bought these ages ago if I could find 'em!)

SOUNDGARDEN: A-Sides (see relevant thread)

WASP: First Blood, Last Cuts (another inexplicably out of print compilation. Why are all the good ones deleted?)

Might also grab some Hellblazer comics if I have any money left. John Constantine is an inspiration to us all ;).

Roll on August...

I want to get Jugulator as well, its supposed to be pretty heavy

Ive got the Scorpions Best Of one, Send Me An Angel is one of the finest ballads ever! Alien Nation ROCKS too, how good are the riffs!

All in all thats a dman fine list :D

Yup, they re-released it in a slipcase with a smaller version of the booklet. Doesn't worry me which one I get as the music's the same on both.

Is it just me, or is Aerosmith's vintage material streets ahead of the shite they've been putting out since? Get A Grip, Nine Lives and Just Push Play are all bloody awful!

W

I like 9 Lives,,, Bur I do prefer their older material.

Seventh Star isnt that great. It has some pretty good songs on it, but nothing spectacular.

I have heard better Sabbath albums, and better Glenn Hughes solo albums, but I'd still get it, because I was pretty curious as to what it would sound like before I got it too

Most of Aerosmiths albums are at least passable to good, some are great, they havent done many that sucked totally!

Anyone know if the Hughes-Turner album (Glenn Hughes and Joe Lynn Turner, natch) is reported to be any good? I'd buy it if CDs weren't so dang expensive here! And the Turner bit sort of puts me off a wee bit...

Binky, yes I would like that Anthrax CD if you're willing to part with it. If you're in Australia, let me know your snail mail address and I'll write you a cheque.

Spiff, Joe Lynn Turner does a fine job on "King of Dreams" (Deep Purple song), but most of his other stuff I've heard is pretty mediocre. Why would anyone with a voice like Glenn Hughes need to use another vocalist?

Just thought I'd add my current list of vinyls or CDs I wanna pick up.

  • Nitro - Nitro II: Hot Wet Drippin' With Sweat (I don't count on finding it though)

  • Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood
  • Slaughter - Fear No Evil
  • King Diamond - Them
  • King Diamond - The Eye
  • Lizzy Borden - Menace To Society
  • Lizzy Borden - Visual Lies
  • Anthrax - Among The Living
  • Judas Priest - Painkiller (STILL!)
  • KISS - Animalize
