My daughter is here!

Melinda and I had our first child - our beautiful baby girl, Hazel James.

She was born 1/10/08, at Johns Hopkins... weighing in at 7lbs 10oz.

She's healthy and hungry and we're pumped!!!

so far, my first big lesson. if you want to be a good parent, you better get your sleep; b/c when you cant figure out why a baby wont stop crying, being a grumpy asshole is not going to help.

my other epiphany - it's hard for a bag of skin and bones like me to calm a baby down when she's used to padding her head on warm boobs. Pretty much everything is more cozy than ribs and two collar bones.

yeah... she gets up a couple times a night. it's just getting her to calm down enough to fall asleep - after her evening fits of fury; that's the challenge!
