So I've been working with these guys to finish their EP. We had an awesome time, but now I'm nervous about giving them the final product.

I've posted a couple of their mixes up here, and now I'm reaching the final stages.

I need any last advice anyone can give me.

Things that I'm aware of:

- Most of you won't like the band. (That's okay. :])
- The guitar tone is pretty dark. (It was my first time micing an amp, and I couldn't fix it with EQ.) I really wish I could have gotten a DI, but I had no way of doing it. :[
- The snare is super clean.
- The songs are off-time and raw. This is what they were going for.

That being said, any advice on the actual mixes and do all the tracks sound similar? ANY advice is welcomed.

What needs to be louder in the drums?

Kick/snare?

And how do you guys combat inconsistent kicks? No amount of compression is helping this. :/

Not quite because she is low in the mix!lol But she has that feeling of distance in the mix and that´s because of too much compression. Personally I like to hear a snare much more up front. But if you like this way just raise some volume on her.

Mhmm, I think I'll bring ole' Betsy on up!

I was trying to keep the snare back in the mix so it wouldn't sound too polished. Haha.
